Acceptable Use Policy
Plain-English rules for using VoiceDepot. Most of these protect you (and us) from TCPA liability, carrier blocking, and customer abuse complaints.
1. Purpose
This Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) governs how you may use the VoiceDepot AI receptionist platform. It is incorporated by reference into the VoiceDepot Terms of Service. Violations may result in suspension or termination of your account without refund.
2. Permitted Use
VoiceDepot is provided to enable lawful, owner-operated small businesses to receive inbound telephone calls from prospective and existing customers, capture leads, and book appointments using an AI assistant. The Service is designed for businesses operating in the United States.
3. Prohibited Verticals
You may not use VoiceDepot for any of the following purposes without prior written approval:
(a) Adult content, escort services, or sexually explicit material;
(b) Cannabis, CBD, or other federally controlled substances;
(c) Firearms, ammunition, explosives, or related accessories;
(d) Online gambling, sports-book operations, or lottery sales;
(e) Payday lending, car-title lending, or high-cost short-term consumer credit;
(f) Debt collection by third-party collectors (FDCPA-regulated);
(g) Multi-level marketing, pyramid schemes, or get-rich-quick offerings;
(h) Political campaigns, fundraising calls, or issue advocacy (TCPA-restricted);
(i) Cryptocurrency or NFT promotion to the general public;
(j) Any business that is unlawful in the jurisdiction where it operates.
4. Prohibited Conduct
You may not, and will not enable any third party to:
(a) Initiate outbound calls or SMS to recipients without prior express written consent under the TCPA;
(b) Initiate calls or SMS to numbers on the National Do Not Call Registry except to existing customers within the established-business-relationship exemption;
(c) Configure the AI to impersonate a human, a real identifiable person, or a deceased individual;
(d) Disable, bypass, or modify the built-in AI disclosure that informs callers they are speaking with an AI assistant;
(e) Disable, bypass, or modify the built-in two-party-consent recording disclosure;
(f) Use the Service as a substitute for emergency services (911, poison control, suicide hotlines);
(g) Configure the Service to provide medical diagnoses, prescription advice, or specific legal advice;
(h) Capture, store, or process credit card data over the voice channel;
(i) Upload or train any voice clone of a real or identifiable person without that person's prior written consent;
(j) Resell, sublicense, or white-label the Service without our prior written agreement (Pro Desk reseller program);
(k) Use the Service to harass, threaten, defraud, or deceive any caller or recipient;
(l) Use the Service to intentionally circumvent caller-ID, spoof caller-ID, or violate the Truth in Caller ID Act;
(m) Use the Service to send spam, phishing messages, or malware;
(n) Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the platform;
(o) Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of any system or network without our prior written authorization.
5. SMS Volume & Carrier Compliance
Your use of the VoiceDepot SMS service is subject to carrier rules and CTIA messaging principles. We operate under registered A2P 10DLC campaigns. You agree to: (a) honor opt-out requests (STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT) within 24 hours; (b) not exceed reasonable per-recipient frequency; (c) not send messages between 9 PM and 8 AM in the recipient's local time zone unless the recipient has opted in to receive after-hours notifications; (d) not engage in URL shorteners other than those whitelisted by VoiceDepot; (e) include a clear identification of the sender ("VoiceDepot for [Your Business]") in every message.
6. Call Volume Fair Use
The unlimited call plan is intended for normal small-business inbound call volume. Accounts that average more than 1,500 inbound calls per month for three consecutive months may be transitioned to the Multi-Line plan ($299/mo). We will contact you in advance and never charge unexpectedly. Sustained traffic that appears to originate from non-organic sources (boiler-room dialers, robocall floods, automated load tests against your number) is grounds for immediate suspension.
7. Compliance & Reporting
If you become aware that you or any user under your account has violated this AUP, notify us at hello@voicedepot.cloud immediately. If we receive a credible report of a violation we may, at our sole discretion: (a) investigate; (b) suspend the account pending investigation; (c) require remediation; (d) terminate the account; (e) report the matter to applicable law enforcement.
8. Updates
We may update this AUP from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to active customers at least 30 days in advance. The "Effective" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent change.
